What do you think?

Hey Convicts,

Skipping all the stories, I’m not going to be doing the NCCPT course anymore. I learned an awful lot from it, but I’ve realized that it doesnt align with my goals for becoming a Personal Trainer. I’ve decided to refocus my efforts on MovNat.

That being said, I just came across this bit of info, and was curious what your take on it was.

It is a very positive thing to be fit, but are you
skilled?

  1. Movnat looks decent. I stumbled upon it a few times in the past.
If I did not oversee anything it would be about 2 – 2.5k for you, depending on when you book the certs, right?
Another option would be to apply as an online-student (or for an internship) at Ido Portal. Check it out at youtube. The guy does awesome things and youtube is full of people who show videos of their progress after several months, a year or two…
As always – regards from Germany.

    • Klaus!

Nice to see you’re still popping in occasionally.

For the Level 1 MovNat cert, it cost me ~ $1k which I don’t feel is bad. I really like how, as Mr. Portal does, the main focus is on movement, and functionality. What good is it if you can bench or squat a lot of weight, but say there was a flood and you couldnt climb up the tree, or defend you and your family during the chaos.

I’ve definitely checked out Mr. Portal’s site, and videos. He’s received many mixed reviews as far as the research I’ve done on him. He’s absolutely talented, and I agree with a lot of his philosophies on fitness. He did turn me onto a ‘better’ calisthenics leg workout – Shrimp Squats ( https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/1004742_548252875216697_730500786_n.jpg ).

Glad to hear from you my friend. Stay Strong!

  2. I love this MovNat concept. Definitely looks worthwhile and marketable to a lot of people out there who struggle to get motivated to exercise. I would never put all my eggs in one basket. Look at Brent Brookbush ans try and merge the two concepts into your own philosophy. Both courses are exceptional but Brent provides a well rounded education program that would make you a better MovNat instructor. Good luck and stay fit.
